With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert Contreras, 43, of El Paso, Texas, on June 18, 2025. Gilbert was a devoted father, a faithful man, and a true fighter who never let his lifelong health battles define him. He faced every challenge with courage, grace, and a smile.
A proud graduate of El Paso High and UTEP, Gilbert lived each day with purpose, love, and unshakable faith. He was the best father and best friend to his daughter, Yasmine Contreras, who was the light of his life.
To know Gilbert or his nickname "Froggy" was to know strength, kindness, and joy. He was a light to many and an example of resilience and unconditional love.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 9:00pm with a funeral service at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Tx 79903.
Gilbert’s spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
