She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom had an unwavering love and faith for God. She was a consummate mother, homemaker an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Mom loved gardening and enjoyed being in the outdoors and taking long walks. She also enjoyed watching baseball, boxing and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan E. Martinez, son-in-laws Carlos Estrada, and Arturo Figueroa Jr., her parents Jose M. and Carmen Barbosa, 6 brothers, Ignacio, Luciano, Humberto, Eduardo, Jose and Pedro Barbosa and 2 sisters Elena and Margarita.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Estrada, Maria Figueroa, Jose A. Martinez, Rosalba Valdez, Barbara Martinez, Violeta Rubalcaba and Rodolfo Martinez, son-in-laws Jerry Valdez and Rogelio Rubalcaba and daughter in-law Jeanette Martinez. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren. Special thanks to Mariposa Hospice staff for the care provided during her journey.
Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5:30-9:00pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave., with vigil at 7pm. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 10:30am
