Hector Aguilar, beloved son, brother, and uncle left this world to seek a better one in the arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday March 14. He was preceded in death by his father Jose (Pepe) Aguilar and leaves behind his mother, Emma Luevano Aguilar, sister Susanna Baca, brother Guillermo Aguilar, and sister Teresa Veliz. He also leaves behind 19 grieving nephews, nieces and many cousins.
Hector worked in banking, spending the last 14 years with his GECU family where he will be sorely missed by all who worked with him and whose lives he brightened each day. He also worked for 5 years at Teachers Credit Union. Hector was a life-long El Pasoan, attended Austin High School, and graduated with a Business Degree from UTEP in 1981. He lived his life among his many friends and relatives with a simple philosophy of always bringing joy to the people he encountered. He never met a person he did not like - or did not like him. The family is receiving on Sunday March 18 beginning at 4 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 3839 Montana. A Rosary and Memorial will be held at 6. Funeral mass will be Monday, March 19, at 9:30 at Guadalupe Catholic Church on Alabama St with services to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher and Charles Veliz, Hector and Ray Baca, Chido Chieza, and Mario Fernandez. Honorary Pallbearer is Captain Dean Aguilar.
