Hector Cordova passed away suddenly on February 9, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born in 1943 in El Paso, Texas to the late Aurora and Antonio Cordova. Hector graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961 and served his country by joining the United States Army Reserves. Hector trained as an X-ray and Nuclear Medicine technician at Providence Memorial Hospital and worked his way to Radiology Director, a position he held for many years. He later opened his own medical sales company, Cor-Med.
Hector became a 32nd degree Mason, and for a time was a member of the El Maida Shrine Oriental Band.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Manuel Cordova, and sister Evangelina Marin.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Olga Martinez Cordova, son Hector Cordova II (Marcella); daughter Melissa Cordova Darbonnier (Pierre); grandchildren Devon Darbonnier, Derek Darbonnier, Danielle Darbonnier, Lenee Cordova and Justin Cordova. He is also survived by his sister Josefina Arciniega, and brothers Antonio, Ruben, Armando and Arturo Cordova.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 8, from 4-8pm, followed by Rosary at 6pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar, El Paso, Texas 79925 on Tuesday, March 9, at 9:30am, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79907.
