Heaven gained a beautiful angel on May 1, 2021, when our mom, Helen Heroux went to her heavenly home. Helen was born on August 19, 1935 to Gilbert Cooper and Isabel Holmes. Our mom’s calling was to care for others. She worked many years at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Southwestern General Hospital, Dr. Tubbs, Dr. Appel, and Dr. Vinay Patel. We were blessed to have her as our mom. She brought us up to be united, strong, independent, and to protect each other. Helen is preceded in death by parents; son (Fernie), great grandson (Ryan), three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her children, Maria de la Luz, Maria Elena (Vicente), Jose (Elsa), Federico (Emilia), Raul Samuel (Susan), Mario (Alma), Andy (Valinda), Honorary family member Horacio Fernandez(Margie), 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great -great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Like her sons, she was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. We would like to thank the staff and physicians at Sierra campus for the great care she received. “Mom, sweet loving memories of you Keep us going even when the Heartache of losing you is still Fresh in our hearts”.

We love and miss you mom!

I know its cliché when someone says their mom was the best mom in the world, but my momma truly was. She was mom, dad, counselor, nurse and doctor all wrapped up in one. Most of all, she was my biggest supporter throughout my life. No matter what game it was, football, basketball or baseball, one constant was that I could always look up and see my mom in the stands. She carried that throughout many of her grandchildren's games and lives as well. My mom touched many people's lives and was truly a special person. She was feisty, straight forward and a fighter till the end and the most amazing thing about her was she had a heart of gold who also had a soft side. Momma, sleep with the angels and rest in peace. Until we meet again. I love you!
