Herminia S. Ortiz

Herminia Soledad Ortiz, 93, left her earthly family on June 1, 2026, to join her heavenly family. Herminia was a lifelong El Paso resident, having graduated from Austin High School. Herminia is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary Martha Jiron, Vivian Jiron, Cecilia Jiron Barnhart (Robert Barnhart), Aaron Francis Acosta (Patricia Ann Mott Acosta), Patricia Marie Acosta Vargas (Victor Manuel Vargas), Charles Henry Aguilar, Rosie Aguilar Crouch, Raymond Aguilar (Susie), Victor M. Aguilar (Sabrina Aguilar), Christie Keenum, as well as many beautiful cousins and their children, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Herminia was a devout Catholic attending Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church. She liked to bake, sew, read and listen to classical music, even attending opera performances. She worked at many jobs, including Crawford Movie Theatre, White Sands Missile Range, UTEP, William Beaumont Army Medical Hospital and many other places.

Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 am at Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Chapel, 1401 W. Yandell El Paso, Texas 79902 with committal to follow at Restlawn Cemetery, 4848 Alps, El Paso, Texas 79904.
