

Homer Perez, 77, long time El Paso resident passed away on Jan 14, 2014 surrounded by his family. Homer was born in Laredo, Texas, and moved to El Paso when he was stationed at Ft. Bliss as a member of the United States Army. He worked in downtown El Paso for 30 years as a general manager for several parking lot companies. Homer was an active community member serving for over 20 years on the Western Refinery Citizens' Advisory Panel, and he was also a member of the Ascarate Seniors Golf Association. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Homer was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Homer is preceded in death by his father and mother Julio and Juanita Perez, his dear brother Julio Perez Jr. His legacy continues with his surviving family, many nieces and nephews along with his brothers Jesse (Carlota) and Robert (Lupe) and his sister Lydia, all from San Antonio; his children, daughter Nora Paugh (Jerry), son Homer Perez Jr. (Leticia) and daughter Sarah Jane Perez. He was a loving and dedicated grandfather. His surviving grandchildren are Jared and Tyler Paugh, Eric and Alyssa Perez, Laura and Nina Baca. Most importantly, he is survived by his wife, Rosa Maria Perez, his loving spouse for 54 years. Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Avenue on January 21 at 5 pm, Rosary to follow at 7 pm. Funeral mass on January 22 will be at St Pius X Church at 9am, interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery to follow. Pall bearers: Jared Paugh, Tyler Paugh, Eric Perez, Heriberto Monterrosa Jr., Samuel Aguirre, Steven Aguirre.
