

Israel C. Rosales, father, soldier, businessman, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Consuelo, his daughter Rosa and son in law Ernesto, and grandchildren Ernesto and Cindy. Mr. Rosales was born in San Benito, Texas, the second of nine children. He is preceded in death by his brothers Crispin, Erasmo, and Abel, as well as his parents Crispin and Juanita. He is survived by sisters Maria, Margarita, and brothers Guillermo, Mauro, and Jose. He served two enlistments in the United States military: in World War II as corporal in the Army Air Corps, and subsequently in the Korean War as airman third class in the Air Force. He maintained a lifetime interest in national politics and international affairs. Mr. Rosales owned and operated Campus Queen Restaurant on Dyer for nearly thirty years. After retirement, he was a regular fixture at Paisano Flea Market. Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 20, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave., with rosary at 6:30pm. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 12:45pm at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa Street. Burial will immediately follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Mr. Rosales loved and cared for animals, especially dogs.
