Javier was diagnosed in September 2004 with Parkinson’s disease with Lewy body dementia and later faced advanced Stage IV prostate cancer. His battle was tough, but he gave it everything he had—with tremendous effort, strength, and courage. A soldier never quits, and Javier never gave up.
Javier was truly one in a million. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, trusted friend, and caring neighbor. He was many things to many people, but to all who knew him, he was someone special.
Javier was a Vietnam War veteran and an Airborne Paratrooper. He was a hardworking Tank House specialist, a man of strong character, and someone who was always willing to share his insights and life lessons. He had an honest personality, a strong spirit, and a way of making an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Javier lived his life with courage, determination, and a willingness to serve others. His strength, humor, wisdom, and love will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.
Though his battle has ended, the legacy of this courageous soldier will live on through the people who loved him.
Javier is survived by his loving wife, Juana B. Diaz and children, Javier Diaz Jr. and Leslie Diaz Hernandez. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Leticia Seidon and Ernesto Barrientos. He will be remembered by grandchildren: Alejandro Javier Diaz, Julian A. Hernandez, Ryan J. Seidon and Sydnee E. Seidon, Danielle Contreras, and Brittney A. Goss. Javier is also survived by his brother, Sabino Diaz, and his sister, Maria Isela Saucedo.
Rest in peace, Javier. Your mission is complete. You fought the good fight, and you never quit. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
