Jeanie Frances Bannon (Parker), 77, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. She was born on February 17, 1948, in El Paso, Texas to parents Darwin Burns Parker and Mary Parker (Oliver), and brother David Parker, all of whom she loved dearly. She was married to the love of her life, E. Bruce Bannon, of El Paso, Texas, from 1974 until his passing in 2009, and continued to miss him ever since. She is survived by her children, Ryan, Sean, Tricia, and Stacey; daughters in love Mandy and Lindsey; and grandchildren Vee, Bailey, Tanner, Asher, Elijah, Levi, and Drake.
Jeanie, or Gigi as her grandchildren affectionately called her, had a generous heart and modeled the teachings of Christ through her actions, words, and wisdom. In her early life, she graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor's in education. She then worked as an elementary teacher in El Paso and, although strict, she cared for her students deeply. Even after retiring from teaching, she continued to teach her own children, multiple Bible studies, and helped her grandchildren continue to learn, just as she continued to read, learn, and grow throughout her life. She loved the Lord and her church community, giving whenever she could and loving on those around her in the name of the Lord while praying diligently and powerfully for those in her life until the very end. She was a member of the Del Sol Church in El Paso, Texas and valued the friends and community she found there.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or church, as Jeanie would want to continue improving the lives of those in our communities. Some of the organizations most dear to her: loverowan.org and younglife.org.
Graveside Services for Jeanie will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79938.
