

Jeanne Masters Baker (1930-2020) passed away on Friday, December 18, at the age of 90. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ronald K Baker and her daughter Vicki Baker. Jeanne was born in Chicago and attended Elmhurst College where she met Ron; they were married for 47 years until his death in 1997. The Bakers moved to El Paso in 1953 and Jeanne was a stay-at-home mom until 1975 when she went back to school at UTEP to complete her BS in Education. She taught elementary school at Roosevelt Elementary and Lindberg (now Mitzi Bond Elementary). Before returning to the work force, she volunteered her time with Jaycee Wives, serving as President from 62-63. She was an avid golfer who made a hole in one at El Paso Country Club on #12 in 1966. She remained a fervent golfer until age 86. She was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys Fan and choose to celebrate her 80th birthday by attending the Thanksgiving Day game at the new stadium with her sons, sons-in-law and grandson. Jeanne was strong in her faith and a founding member of the congregation at Western Hills United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children Cyndi Lane, Jeff and Kevin Baker and Ronda Massa, her grandchildren Cory, Dalton, Kennedy and Hunter.
Memorial service for Jeanne will be held 4:00pm Friday, July 2, at Western Hills United Methodist Church, 524 Thunderbird Drive, El Paso, Texas 79912. Charitable donations in her memory should go to Western Hills United Methodist Church.
