Jesus "Chuy" J. Guevara

He was born on August 23, 1930 in El Paso to Anita & Jesus Guevara. A dedicated and loving husband and father, he will be deeply missed but shall live eternally in our hearts and minds. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Chita. Predeceased by his cherished son Felipe de Jesus, he is survived by his children Herlinda Concepcion and Ricardo Villarreal, and Ricardo de Jesus and Claudia Guevara; grandchildren Rik Salvador and Donna, Roman Jesus and Juanita, and Esperanza de Jesus Guevara; great-grandchildren Ricky Felipe and Tania, Natalia Herlinda , Dulce Roman, Katrina Renee, Sofia Ella, and great-grandson Ricky Jesus Villarreal. He is also survived by his beloved niece Anita Deffren, Goddaughter Elisa Deffren and nephews Tony and Steven Deffren, and nephew Greg Bellemeur.

Born the seventh of eight children, he is survived by his remaining siblings, sister Basilisa Medina and brother Miguel Guevara and their children. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, children of sisters Agapita Caraveo and Petra Guerra. In addition, he is survived by his cousin-brothers Lalo, Tony, and Pepe Bejarano, and Fernando Guevara.

The family wishes to acknowledge tender and loving attention provided by his caregivers Stephanie Sherron, Rosa Amaya, and Bobby Thigpen as well as Dr. Luis Guerra and the professionals of Hospice of El Paso, through whom his life’s end was made much more tolerable and comfortable.

The ultimate expression of love is the will to live no matter what suffering the body must endure. Rest in peace my little bird, mi amorcito corazon. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Martin Funeral Home Central with a 7:00 p.m. rosary. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at San Antonio de Padua Church. Private interment will be held at a future date.
