In Loving Memory of Jesus V. Silva 92, who went home to be with his family in Heaven on January 11, 2023. It was a peaceful transition in his home with family, at his will. The son of Esequiel and Aurora Silva, and brother to Gloria Silva Guillen, Gilbert Silva and Emma Silva Villa.
He was Born Sept. 16, 1930, in El Paso, TX where he lived the majority of his life. Married and widowed to Amparo Guillen with their four children, Jesus Roberto Silva, Leticia Silva Acosta, Daniel Silva and Hector Silva. He later remarried to Ethelynn E. Silva and had three children, Jesus Silva Jr., Tina Marie Silva and Edward Esequiel Silva. Together, Jesus and Ethelynn beautifully blended the two families for over 54 years.
He honored his parents and lived a long life, Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you."
He was a hard working man, who valued his family, that was very much a part of his life. He proudly & selflessly served in the Army with the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. After leaving the Corp he continued in construction, utilizing the skills he mastered as a Heavy Equipment Operator until he retired.
Early in life, Jesus learned the importance of hard work and instilled that same work ethic in his children. He was a man of strong faith, and he showed it through his love of God and family. Always very kind and giving, he often enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home with his family. His family's fondest memories were based around his ability to fix and build things with a mind of a true engineer, his ability to cook most of their favorite dishes, and his sharp wit that never faded even into his last days.
He is Survived by his wife Ethelynn E. Silva, who cared for him through health and beyond, to his last days. Also survived by his 5 children - Leticia Silva Acosta, Daniel Silva, Hector Silva, Tina Marie Silva and Edward Esequiel Silva. As well as his Eleven Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren and his two sisters Gloria Guillen and Emma Villa.
His family was blessed to have his influence, lessons, and love. His memory will live for many generations to come.
