

Joe, as known by his family and friends, was born on September 2, 1927, to Norman and Ruth Rearick of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania. Joe joined the Army in 1946 and served tours of duty in Korea, France, Fort Bliss, Texas and at Fort Eustis, Virginia, from where he retired after twenty years of active duty.
Joe is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Orman and Don Rearick and his sister, Gladys North. He is survived by Bertha A., his wife of fifty-six years and his sisters-in-law Dolly Rearick of Pennsylvania, Luz Armendariz and Susana A. Tovar of El Paso, Texas. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, whom Joe loved dearly and who loved him as well. He referred to them as his children. Joe was Uncle Joe to everybody. Joe spent endless hours tending to his garden and his rose bushes. He also enjoyed playing golf to its fullest, playing three mornings a week. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home-Central, 3839 Montana on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Chapel Service will be on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., also at Martin Funeral Home – Central. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
