

Jose (Nega) Corona passed away on November 26, 2011, he was born May 15, 1931, in Sierra Blanca, Texas. As a young boy his family moved to El Paso, Texas, but always returned to Sierra Blanca where he learned deer hunting with his uncle Nick, cousins and brothers, Jose attended Bowie High School and was a member of the Bowie High School baseball State Champions of 1949. An achievement that Jose was very proud of, as the memorabilia on the walls of his living room showed. For his last year of high school, Jose returned to Sierra Blanca and graduated from Sierra Blanca High School in 1951. Upon graduating, he joined the Air Force in June of 1951, and served till June of 1955. In later years, Jose worked with Kroger Properties on Executive Blvd, retiring after 25 years as maintenance supervisor. Jose, although never married, was a very caring and loving man with his immediate family. Always ready to help, especially his mother. Jose was preceded in death by his parents; mother Timotea Ramirez Aguilera, stepfather Cornelio Aguilera, Brother Alfonso Corona and two sisters, Aida Corona Talavera and Yolanda Aguilera. Survived by brothers, Efren (Marta) Corona, Fernando (Elena) Aguilera, Francisco (Irma) Aguilera, his niece and care taker, Yolanda (David) Morales and several nephews and nieces. Members of the surviving Bowie High School Baseball Team of 1949, (ARRIBA, LOS OSOS PODEROSOS) will serve as honorary pallbearers. A special thank you, to the nurses and personnel of Davita at Fox Plaza, for their special care given to Jose, for the past twelve years. Jose, look after us in death, as you did in life. Services and Visitation will be held 6-9pm, rosary 7pm Thursday, December 1, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 1:15 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, El Paso, TX.
