Jose Luis Martel

Jose Luis Martel, 73, passed away on January 14, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. In memory of the other half: People know that the other half is usually a wife, but before me, Rosie Martell (sister-in-law), Victor Martell had another half, his fraternal twin brother Jose Luis Martel, lovingly known as Bubba to all. Coach Morales is the one that dubbed that name on him when he played football for “La Tech” where he graduated from in 1968. Bubba also played baseball in high school and continued to play softball with the city leagues as a catcher. Bubba was a very giving person always had a little gift for me or my children. He loved music, dancing, watching and reading about sports. Unfortunately we lost this beautiful person and he will be greatly missed. Vigil will be held Wednesday, April 7th at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4700 Delta Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Bubba will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Please keep his sister, Maria Martell, Octavio Martell, his other half, Victor and sister-in-law, Pat Martell, in your prayers; as well as his nieces, nephews and their families. REST IN PEACE BUBBA.
