Laura grew up in Juarez, Mexico but attended Jesus and Mary Catholic School at Sunset Heights in El Paso, Texas. She married Miguel B. Estrada (Mike) in 1953 and she lived the rest of her life in El Paso in their long and fruitful marriage of almost 69 years.
Laura and her beloved pharmacist-husband founded Alameda Thrifty Pharmacy which is still in operation to this day. Mainly she was a strongly devoted wife, stay-at-home mother and homemaker. She was a great cook and prepared homemade tortillas, tamales, and other traditional foods for many years.
Laura loved to always look her best and was known for her classy style of fashion. She and her husband loved to dance and they were good at it. They also enjoyed travel throughout the states and internationally whenever they could.
Laura is survived by her husband Mike and her six children; Silvia, Norma (Steve), Irma (Raul), Sandy, Mike (Analivia), and Mark (Claudia). Fourteen grandchildren survive her. She enjoyed watching eleven grow to adulthood. They gave her and Mike 10 great-grandchildren and the family continues to grow with two more on the way.
