

Lewis Tolstoy Binswanger, 91, passed away on September 11, 2017. Lewis was a loving, gentle and generous man who cared deeply about his family, friends and colleagues. Lewis is survived by his children, Sharon Semko (Gene), Shelley Ingram, Lewis M. Binswanger (Katie) and Samuel Binswanger (Joett); his grandchildren Jason & Jeremy Semko, Amy Rebenack (Jonathan), Steven & Nicole Ingram, Adam & Lily Binswanger and Nathan (Tiffany) and Lucas Binswanger; his great-granddaughters Kennedy Binswanger and Anastasia Rebenack; his sister-in-law Rose Adauto and brothers-in-law Danny & Lucas Herrera and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his dear companion, Mary McCollum. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Corine Herrera Binswanger, his sisters Deana Ellzey, Olga Roush and their parents, Tolstoy and Margarita Binswanger, and sister-in-law Laura Ochoa Segura.
Lewis was born in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico. At 12 years old, the family moved to Carlsbad, NM where he graduated from high school. After working as a manager for Lovelady Retail Stores in El Paso, he enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. He returned to El Paso where he met and married Corine Herrera. He continued working for Winn’s Retail Stores until 1986. He then began his second career of real estate and financial entrepreneurship.
Funeral services will be at Our Lady of Assumption at 4800 Byron on Wednesday, October 4th at 9:45 am followed by interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
