Lilla Lee Shockley entered our world on April 16, 1925 at Gurley, Texas and left on June 6, 2018 to meet her Jesus. She was the second of 4 children born to William and Maggie Hardy. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Brother, Gene Hardy, Sister, Alyene Bailey, and her Son, John R. Shockley Jr.
She is survived by her Sister, Sue Adams, Son, Buster Louis Shockley, Daughter-in-Law, Janie Shockley, two grandchildren, Kim Brookshire (Bobby) and John (Scooter) R. Shockley III (Jessica). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was always a country girl from spending time at her grandparent’s farm riding horses and playing outside by the river. She loved gardening which was enhanced by her green thumb. At one time she had over 80 house plants. The family moved to Fabens, Texas when she was a young girl where she grew up, married and had her two sons.
She loved her family, pets, playing cards, friends and living each day. Her love of art lead her to take lessons and she became a very accomplished artist. For many years she was in demand to house and pet sit. She spoiled every animal!
Everyone called her Grandma until after the greats came along when she became GG to all. She always greeted you with a hug and sent you off with a hug. She made everyone feel loved and special.
A very special thank you to Hospice El Paso inpatient personnel who made her last days comfortable and made our family feel special. They are awesome.
