LJ pursued his education with steady determination, earning an Associate’s Degree from El Paso Community College. His commitment to building a meaningful life through hard work and perseverance carried into a career in logistics, and later into entrepreneurship as the owner of Pack Crate N Ship—work that reflected his reliability, discipline, and pride in providing for those who depended on him.
He was married to Rosa Ibarra Thomas, and together they built a family that remains a lasting part of his legacy. He is survived by his sons: Bobby, Johnny, Randy, Erick, and Richard Thomas; his grandchildren: Jessica Reyes, Vanessa Schriber, Christian Thomas, Erick Thomas, Brianna Thomas, Randy Thomas Jr., Alexandria Thomas, Victoria Thomas, Isaiah Thomas, Silas Thomas, and Richard Thomas Jr.; and his siblings: Robert Thomas and Lisa Herrera Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Thomas; his young children, Candy and Michael Thomas; his parents, Robert and Nedosa Thomas; and his siblings Jimmy, Billy Lee, and Bobby Joe Thomas.
Those who knew LJ will remember the warmth he carried into everyday moments—often expressed in the simple, affectionate phrases that became his signature: “Hey Shug,” “Hola Corazon,” and “Hello Darling.” In these small but enduring words, family and friends found comfort, familiarity, and love.
