Lucy was born to Nicolas Sambrano and Esiquia Loya Sambrano. She attended and graduated from Austin High School. She met the love of her life, Nick Valenzuela who was her next-door neighbor. Lucy and Nick shared a love of dancing and getting together with their compadres. They were married for sixty-two years and had three children; Ronald M. Valenzuela, Daniel M. Valenzuela and Pamela Valenzuela (Miller).
Lucy served her community as the Director of Administration for the U. S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization for over forty years. Lucy will be remembered for her strength, tenacity and the deep love of all her family members. She will be deeply missed and loved always.
Lucy is survived by her daughter and son, Pamela Valenzuela (Miller) and Daniel M. Valenzuela. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas and Esiquia Sambrano; three brothers, Armando, Roberto and Chino Sambrano; son, Ronald M. Valenzuela and her husband, Nick T. Valenzuela.
Services will be held on Friday July 26, 2024 with a mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:30 AM, 3729 Hueco Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Burial to follow at 1:00 PM at Ft. Bliss Cemetery. All family and loved ones are welcome to gather for an informal Celebration of Life. Please contact family members for details.
