

Rosary will be at 7PM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home Central (3839 Montana), who are handling all of the family’s arrangements.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Patrick Cathedral (1118 N. Mesa). Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Luis was born in Saltillo, Mexico to the late Alberto and Paula Armendariz, August 19, 1924. He graduated from Bowie High School. Luis was a proud World War II veteran having served with U.S. Army’s 27th Infantry Division (Battle of Okinawa); the 11th Airborne Division (Occupation of Japan). He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He earned the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, American Campaign, Asia-Pacific Campaign and WWII Victory Medals. After the war, he married Soledad Celaya, May 14, 1950. He also worked and retired from Fort Bliss.
Luis is preceded in death by his wife, Soledad, and infant daughter Irene. He is survived by his children Luis Arturo Armendariz Jr. (Leti), Ernesto Armendariz (Lily), Raymond Armendariz (Claudia), Linda Armendariz Sarabia (Enrique), Peter Armendariz (Dolores), Terri Armendariz Moreno (Emmanuel) and Larry Armendariz (Noel); 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to Saint Vincent De Paul. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Manquero-Butler, Las Palmas ER/ICU staff, AM Healthcare and Dora Hernandez, Home Assistant.
