She was born on November 21, 1925 to Filiberta and Francisco Castañeda. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, TX and had a strong catholic faith.
Luz Flores (Our Mother) walked through life with gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with unforgettable grace.
She was a wonderful Mother who was always there when we needed her the most. Offering support, wisdom, love and abundance leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raul Flores and her granddaughter Rachel Priscilla Ponce.
She leaves behind her 8 children Raul Flores (Jeannie), Lucia Morales (Dennis), Martha Barron, Irma Torres (Gilbert), Terry Flores, Rose Flores, Celia Stewart (Allen) and Raquel Mestemaker (David).
Luz also leaves behind 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren to celebrate and share in her memory.
A visitation for Luz will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a vigil at 7:00 pm, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903, followed by a committal service in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
