With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Macaria Moreno Lujan, who entered into eternal rest in her sleep on August 1, 2026, at the age of 92. She is survived by her husband Roberto Lujan, and sister Anita Zerino from Hayward, CA.
Macaria was born on March 10, 1934, in Del Rio, Texas, to Mateo Moreno and Guadalupe Ledesma Moreno. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where she began a journey that would reflect the determination, resilience, and strength that defined her throughout her life.
A gifted entrepreneur, Maca built and operated several successful businesses through hard work, vision, and perseverance. She approached every endeavor with courage and grace, earning the respect of those who knew her and inspiring others through her unwavering work ethic.
She was married to Roberto Lujan, and together they shared life’s joys and memorable travels. While her accomplishments in business were remarkable, it was her generous heart, enduring spirit, and love for family that became her greatest legacy.
Maca was loved by her four brothers, five sisters, countless nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, wisdom, humor, and unwavering love. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and cared for, and her presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Her family will remember her not only for her resilience but for the warmth of her smile, the wisdom she shared, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find peace in knowing she passed peacefully and is now reunited with those who went before her.
Maca’s life reminds us that true success is measured not only by accomplishments, but by the love we leave behind. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared around family tables, in the values she instilled, and in the hearts of all who loved her.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 17, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a vigil at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will he held Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, 10970 Bywood Dr, El Paso, Texas 79936 with her committal to follow at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, Texas 79938.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
