She was born in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua on May 11, 1934. El Paso was her home for over 60 years; she relished being a proud American with an affection for Mexico. She was a woman of great strength and fortitude navigating complex life barriers with grit and determination. Her greatest joy was family unity; her superpower was interjecting humor when least expected. She graced her children with wisdom and powerful lessons throughout her lifetime.
She is survived by her children: Samuel Aguilera Jr, Rita Chapman, Tony Aguilera, Gloria Aguilera Terry, Melissa Aguilera Martinez and Abel Sullivant whom she affectionately called “la alma de mi corazon.” She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
