Maria Luisa Martinez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend was called home to gods kingdom on October 26, 2024. Maria also known to family and friends as Licha was born in Fresnillo Zacatecas on June 21, 1935 to Parents Jose and Rosa Mendez. In 1975 María and Husband Antonio Came to live in El Paso Texas.
Maria Luisa is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Antonio Martinez, her son Miguel Angel, her 2 grandchildren & their spouses John (Jessica) & Stephanie(Fernando) along with 4 great grandsons Nicolas, Ezekiel, Marcos & Benjamin and her sister Rosa Escalante. She is preceded in death by her daughter Maria Del Carmen Sanchez, Her parents Jose & Rosa, Her 5 brothers Luis, Patricio, Eliseo, Julio & Jose, as well as 2 sisters Rosa & Eulalia.
Licha worked as quality control supervisor for the Rocky Mountain company for 11 years. On her spare time she enjoyed music, dancing, cooking and traveling. After retirement her time was spent sewing, crocheting, and made beautiful blankets, scarfs, rosaries and other items. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and sudoku as well. Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandkids and great grandsons. She served in church on a regular basis and was also apart of Marriage Encounter along with her husband Antonio where she made a number of friends.
Maria Luisa (Licha) was always there for her family and friends to lend a helping hand, give advice or just listen. Licha will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and those who got to know her and share countless memories with her.
