It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria De Los Angeles Vicuna Rodriquez (Mary), on April 22, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Carlos Rodrigurez for 46 years. Mary’s devotion and commitment encompassed all aspects of her life, and many were special to her. From becoming a nun in her early life, to later finding the love of her life in Carlos, to being pursued by recruiters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Los Angeles field office for her expertise in international organized crime while working at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel for over 22 years, Mary was up for it all. Mary enjoyed the adventures of travel with Carlos, was always ready for a game of Lotteria/Bingo and occasionally trying her luck at the casino. She was an excellent cook and loved to dance. Most importantly, her kindness extended beyond her family as she always prioritized the well-being and care of others. Mary was a devout Catholic and a committed follower of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary loved her family more than anything and proudly severed her family as a devoted wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, and step-grandmother, where she always had a kind word for those in need and with everyone she encountered.
Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. 79903. Funeral mass will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr, with interment to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the beautiful life she lived.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to Blessed Sacrament Convent 4105 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, TX 87878.
