Mike Romero Jr., more affectionately known as Pa or Mikey, of El Paso, Texas passed away suddenly on September 5th, 2026 at his own home. He was the proud son of Maria Elena Romero, born on October 27th, 1945. Mike graduated Austin High School in the class of 1964, where he played on the varsity football team and the district-winning baseball team as a catcher. It is during this time he met his wife, Olga Romero (nee. Ramirez) at a gathering in the home that would later become his. Mike, for the majority of his career, worked as an insulator, and was most proud of his long tenure at Asarco. He and his wife most recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on March 22nd. Throughout his life, Mike was known as a jack-of-all-trades with an extreme eye for detail. He loved baseball, coaching soccer, caring for his pets, taking his time with projects around the house, eating his wife’s refried beans, and watching the View. But most of all, he loved his family. He is survived by wife, Olga, his three children, Annette (David), Micheal (Jennifer), and Yvonne (Charles), his grandchildren, Izabelle, Victoria, Adrian, Noah, Logan, and Lillian, his many nieces and nephews, and his older sister, Martha. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Elena, and his siblings, Manny, Rachel, and Irene.
