
Nelson Sterling Bank, 75, a beloved brother, uncle, educator and United States Army Veteran passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 5, 2035, after a long illness.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Nelson spent his childhood in Mexico City, Mexico before returning to the US to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Linguistics. A veteran of the United States Army, Nelson spent much of his working life teaching English and other subjects across the globe, including in China, the Philippines, Mexico and the United States.
He is survived by four siblings, two nephews, and five nieces, who will remember him for his intellect, quirky humor and kindness and willingness to help others.
A private service will be held for family and close friends.
Nelson will be missed by his family and beloved community in El Paso and Juarez, Mexico; our memory of him and the impact on the lives of those he touched will never fade.
