He died at the age of 72 on January 20, 2024. Oscar was surrounded by loved ones during his last days battling liver cancer.
He is survived by his brother Richard Ahumada and sisters Terese Finn and Priscilla Aranda, his nieces and nephews Michael Moreno, Madeline Finn, Valerie Beckford, Danielle Leno, Richard Morales, Vanessa Torres and all their children.
Oscar loved math and was a teacher at several schools in the El Paso area. He loved black and white movies, ice cream, coffee and his family. He suffered from many physical ailments including cancer but always fought hard and didn’t stop him from reaching out to help others to live a full life. Oscar will be missed and loved. We will always keep his memory in our hearts and minds.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue from 5:00-8:00 pm with a Vigil at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa Street, followed by a Burial at 2:30 pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Rd. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Liver Foundation or to your choice of cancer organization. Please help to find a cure for cancer.
