He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dr. Ayub was a well respected dedicated physician who loved and served his patients and his community up until early this month; for a total of over 60 years.
Dr. Ayub was born on January 7, 1920 in Chihuahua, Mexico. His family moved to El Paso in 1930. He graduated from El Paso High School, Texas Western College of Mines, and St. Louis University Medical School. He married Loraine Pennock in 1948 and had seven children. From 1953 until 1955 he served our country as a medical physician and a Captain in the Army at White Sands Missile Range. Dr. Ayub was one of the founding physicians for La Fe Clinic, and served as Doctor-in-Charge for Farah Manufacturing Company for over 15 years. In addition to his family practice, Dr. Ayub served as the physician for the County Jail in downtown El Paso. Dr. Ayub and his second wife, Esperanza Garcia Ayub raised three children.
Preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Ayub and Jesusita Caballero Ayub; brothers and sisters, Carolina Ramirez, Mary Darbonnier, Margaret Amparan, Hortencia Ayub, Elias Ayub, Felipe Ayub, Guillermo Ayub, and his oldest son, Leonard Paul Ayub.
Dr. Pablo Ayub is survived by his brother, Hector Ayub; Loraine Ayub, and their children, Vivian Denise Gelo, John Anthony (Tony) Ayub, Sherry Hooten-Soele, Joyce Loraine Zarowski, Mark Daniel (Dan) Ayub; Esperanza Ayub and their children Jason Ayub, Yazmin Yamile Ayub, Ayshia Camille Ayub. Dr. Ayub had 14 grand children and 7 great grand children. Grandchildren: Damon Baldi, Marcus Quintana, Mario Quintana, Barnett Gelo, Travis Burgos, Austin Burgos, Clay Hooten, Fred Soele, Stephen Saunders, Darron Saunders, Adam Zarowski, Gretchin Ayub, Tracy Ayub and Delila Ayub.
Great-grandchildren: Tabitha Ayub-Saunders, Dante Baldi, Hailey Quintana, Alise Hooten, Maddison Hooten, Dylan Saunders and Jenna Saunders. As the patriarch of his family, Dr. Pablo Ayub will always be loved and remembered.
Viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, September 27. The Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. the same evening. There will be a Mass in his honor at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28 at St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral 1118 North Mesa Avenue. Burial Services will follow the mass at Fort Bliss Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Drive.
