

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pierre Edward Darbonnier, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Pierre passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2025, at the age of 79, in El Paso, Texas. His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Born on September 4th, 1945, in El Paso, Texas, Pierre was a man of remarkable warmth, wisdom, and generosity. A lifelong professional in the apparel business, he dedicated over 60 years of his life to his work. Through his dedication and expertise, he became a respected figure in the industry, earning the admiration of colleagues and peers alike. Pierre’s strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were reflected not only in his career but also in the way he treated everyone around him.
Pierre was also a passionate world traveler, always eager to explore new cultures and places. His travels took him to many corners of the globe, where he formed lifelong friendships and gathered stories that he cherished.
Pierre’s love for life was evident in everything he did. He had a deep passion for sports and enjoyed spending his leisure time watching games, playing, and sharing the thrill of competition with his loved ones. He especially treasured the time spent with his family, whether it was on family outings, simple gatherings, or sharing a meal. He was dedicated to maintaining his health, enjoying regular exercise, and leading an active lifestyle. Pierre also had a fondness for friendly wagers and lighthearted gambling where he would enjoy the fun of a game of cards and slot machines.
Above all, Pierre was a devoted husband to Maggie Darbonnier, the love of his life, a loving father to his son, Pierre Edward Darbonnier Jr. (wife Melissa Darbonnier), and daughter, Daphne Darbonnier Navarro (husband Gustavo Navarro). He was a cherished grandfather to Ciara Navarro, Pierre Devon Darbonnier, Gus Navarro, Derek Darbonnier, Danielle Darbonnier, and Dante Navarro. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Charli Skye Darbonnier. His surviving siblings, Mary, Vivian, and Maurice, as well as many other extended family members and friends will miss him dearly. His influence and love will live on through the generations he helped shape.
Pierre is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Darbonnier; father, Fred Darbonnier; brother, Fred “Tito” Darbonnier; sister, Annette Leos; and his beloved wife, Maggie Darbonnier.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 12400 East Montana, 79938. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa, 79902. Rite of Committal will follow at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery East.
