Ramon Martinez Jr.

Ramon Martinez Jr. joined the Lord on November 19, 2012. His final days were spent with his family and friends surrounding him. He touched the lives of many over his own lifetime. He fought a hard battle with cancer before he peacefully ascended to heaven. He was born on August 23, 1950. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Alicia Granillo. And he’s survived by his father Ramon Martinez; sisters, Nora Granillo, Loretta Portillo, Terry Padilla, Irene Hernandez, Dina Megliorino, Rachel Frausto; brothers, Raymond Martinez and Manny Martinez. Special thanks to Aunt Olga Portillo, cousins Bertha Rodriguez and Melissa Portillo for their loving devotion. Great appreciation is owed to Dusty and Bonnie Henson of the El Paso Saddleblanket Co. also to Irma Enriquez, Jess Brown and the staff at Mountain View. He was a lifelong Washington Redskin fan and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (Class of 1969) He worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital for four years; Credit Bureau of El Paso for twenty-two years and El Paso Saddleblanket Co. for thirteen years. Pallbearers will be Rosario Minjarez, Christian Portillo, Daniel Portillo, Ruben Escandon Jr., Jose Sanchez and Raul Rodriguez. Visitation will be Monday November 26, 2012 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home Central, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 9:30 AM at St. Francisco Xavier Catholic Church, 519 S. Latta St., interment to follow at Mr. Carmel Cemetery. Ray will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
