Ramona "Mona" Morales

Ramona “Mona” Morales, 84, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Mona retired from GMAC where she worked as an insurance clerk. She was an active resident of the Palisades Senior Living Community and a proud, lifelong member of the Bowie Alumni Class of 1948. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, needle point, reading, and BINGO. Mona is preceded in death by her husband Jose Morales, her companion Ed Hawes, her parents Abraham and Francisca, and six sisters; Ofelia, Ernestina, Manuela, Amparo, Chavela, and Socorro. She is survived by her children, Eugene Martinez and wife Olivia, Elizabeth Martinez and companion Cindy, Cynthia Acosta and husband Mario, Catherine Stephens and husband Alan, and Christine Sampson and husband Walter; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church with Msgr. Francis J. Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Mario Acosta II, Matthew Acosta, Michael Acosta, Brian Halladay, Austin Simonds, Kramer Sampson, Philip Martinez, and Alejandro Melendez. Honorary Pallbearers will be BJ Urquidi and Martin Melendez. Cremation services will take place at a later date. Directed by Funeraria del Angel Martin Central.
