Raymundo "Mundis" Ortiz Sr.

Raymundo "Mundis" Ortiz, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022. He was born November 26, 1931, in El Paso, Texas to Federico and Maria Ortiz. At a young age he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served his country during the Korean War.

He married Aurora Burrola, his wife of 59 years before her passing.

He is survived by his daughter, Maria H. Martinez; his son, Raymundo Ortiz Jr (Liz); 3 grandchildren, Joe john "JJ" Martinez; Vivian Preciado (Alexis); and Aaron R Ortiz ( Rachael); and 1 great grandchild, Evie Preciado. He was also preceded in death by his son Ramiro "Ram" Ortiz.

The Ortiz family will receive family and friends on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 9205 North Loop. Following by the interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife Aurora Ortiz.
