Ricardo "Richy" Diaz, age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 23, 2025. A beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, Richy was a pillar of the El Paso community whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born and raised in El Paso, Richy was the proud owner of Richy's Auto Body Shop, a trusted local business he built and operated for nearly 40 years. Known for his skilled craftsmanship and warm demeanor, he gained the respect of countless customers and friends over the decades - many of whom became like family.
Richy shared 42 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Bertha Rojas Diaz. Their bond was the kind of love others admired: steady, joyful, and full of laughter. Together they raised their son, Michael J. Diaz. Ricardo has two other children, Ivonne Diaz and Ricardo Jr., Richy was immensely proud of all his children and their accomplishments, and his love for his family knew no bounds.
He is also survived by his loving siblings: Roberto, Carlos, Antonio, Oscar, Sylvia, Maria Refugio, Esperanza, Juanita, Martha, and Gloria Diaz. He is preceded in death by his brother Arturo Diaz. Richy was the heartbeat of a large and close-knit family, whose roots ran deep in El Paso. His presence brought people together, and his generous spirit made him a favorite uncle, a cherished brother, and a dependable friend.
Richy will also be deeply missed by the Duran, Rojas, and Enriquez families, all of whom held him close in their hearts. his legacy is one of loyalty, love, and laughter - an enduring reminder of how one good man can make the world better simply by being himself.
A celebration of Richy's life will be held in the coming days all who knew him are welcome to attend and share in honoring his memory. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses , helping give richie the dignified farewell he so greatly deserves.
He was a wonderful husband, a devoted father, a loving brother and uncle - and a good friend to everyone. his Laughter, Kindness and genuine heart will never be forgotten.
