Son and beloved family member Richard "Ricky" Angel Blancas passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 64. Richard graduated from Burges High School and earned a BBA and an MBA from UTEP where he focused his studies on Human Resources. He worked most of his lifetime in the restaurant and hospitality industries in El Paso, Colorado and Palm Springs, and more recently in human resources with El Paso County.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Angel Blancas, his maternal grandparents, Jose and Soledad Prieto, and cousin, Hank Dominguez.
Richard is survived by his deeply saddened mother Yolanda Prieto Blancas, brother Rene Blancas De Blanco, aunt Irene Dominguez, uncle Henry Dominguez, and sister Leticia Anaya.
His humility and charismatic personality attracted people who eventually called him a friend. He was loved by all he came across, leaving an everlasting impression. He will be admired and remembered as a kind and gentle person.
Visitation for Richard will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a vigil at 7:00 pm, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79903. Funeral mass will be on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 4805 Byron St, El Paso, TX 79930.
Pallbearers are Robert Hough, Brian Pena, Frank Chavira, Jose Arguellez, Daniel Tovar, Leo Feuerstein.
His final wishes were to be cremated and buried with his maternal grandparents.
