April 7, 1965-October 16, 2025
Robert "Bo" Pratt passed away peacefully on October 16 surrounded by his dear wife Liliana and his loving family.
Bo was born Robert Morton Pratt in Salem, MA, on April 7, 1965 and grew up in a military family. They made their way to Fort Bliss-El Paso in 1976. His parents, Joseph Walden Pratt and Susan McGraw Pratt, instilled in him the values of honesty, loyalty, discipline and strength.
After graduating from J.M. Hanks High School in 1983, and earning an Associates degree at UTEP, he followed his vocation to become one of El Paso's Finest. Bo served his community honorably for 39 years with the El Paso Police Department, retiring in May of 2025 with the rank of Sergeant. He was a longtime member of the El Paso SWAT team as both an officer and a sergeant, eventually becoming a SWAT sniper and sniper team supervisor. He received the El Paso Police Department Medal of Valor and Lifesaving Award, along with numerous commendations for his dedication to duty. His leadership and mentorship have helped shape the careers of many of the officers and supervisors serving today.
His longest assignment was as Sergeant of Airport Operations, an opportunity that allowed him to mischievously photobomb many unsuspecting travelers as they snapped photos at the El Paso International Airport.
Bo loved to laugh and make others laugh. His sense of humor was unique and his laughter contagious. He was endlessly regaling his friends and family with his life stories of motorcycle rides, and police "war stories". He loved riding double with his wife Lily on his Harley-Davidson. He enjoyed hunting wild game and tinkering on his beloved classic Chevelle. Bo bragged about his skills on the backyard barbecue and smoker, and he backed it up by serving amazingly juicy slabs of fish, fowl and mystery meat from the game freezer.
A good provider, a kind soul--Bo will be deeply missed by his wife, Lily, his parents Susan Pratt of Arden, NC, Wally and Barbara Pratt of Hendersonville, NC; his siblings Dave Pratt (Caitilin) of Monterey, CA; Doug Pratt (Samantha) of Asheville, NC as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved friends and four-legged companions whom he loved like children.
Bo and Lily were blessed with 18 years of marriage, full of love and laughter, and he was adored by her family. The two met when their professional lives intersected. She was and is the love of Bo's life.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 14th from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903.
