On behalf of the UTEP Art Department, we can't express how sad we were to hear about Roger's passing. It was such a treat to have Roger as a student - he was so friendly, thoughtful, generous, and hard working. I remember fondly all the great conversations we had about sports and art - he loved them both! We send our most sincere condolences to Roger's family; we know that you will miss him terribly.

As the mother of a Border Patrol agent out of Arizona, my thoughts and prayers are with all Agent Martinez's family and friends. I know the sacrifices that our Border Patrol agents have and the dedication they give to our country. There is no higher measure of a man than one who gives of himself for others. I am heartbroken. May he rest in peace and in the arms of angels.

 My husband and I are sending our deepest condolences to the entire Martinez  family,  his loving fiancé and fellow brothers.   May God send you all peace and his love during this very difficult time.
