Rosa E. Rodriguez

On the evening of October 14, 2024, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rosa E. Rodriguez, age 78, was called to be with the Lord. Born on May 9, 1946, in Zacatecas, Mexico, Rosa was the daughter of Teodoro and Maria Espinoza. She moved to Juarez, Mexico, at a young age where she was raised by her mother and her godmother, Conchita Vasquez Montelongo. Despite modest beginnings, Rosa pursued her education diligently, reaching college preparatory level.

In intermediate school, she excelled in volleyball, proudly contributing to her team's championship victory. She also represented her school at various events, showcasing both her talent and beauty. These formative years allowed her to forge lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply.

Rosa found her soulmate, Armando M. Rodriguez, and they married on November 5, 1967. A dedicated worker, she particularly cherished her role as a school bus driver for Ysleta Independent School District, a position she loved and held until her retirement in 2008. After retiring, Rosa enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, Teodoro and Maria; her brothers, Jose and Hipolito; and her sisters, Jesusita (Manuel) Duenes, Florentina (Pedro) Casas, Francisca Proo, and Guadalupe Espinoza, along with many extended family members. She is survived by her three children: Rosa Margarita (Joaquin) Andujo, Maria Teresa (Armando) Chacon, and Armando M. Rodriguez Jr.; her grandchildren Nicholas and Joseph Andujo, Crystal (Christian) Macias, Jessica Chacon, Isaiah (Ruby) Schmidt, and Nathan Rodriguez; her great-grandchildren Adrian and Emma Macias, and Liliana and Dahlia Schmidt; and her sisters Tomasa (Lorenzo) Gamboa, Aurora Chavez, and Cecilia (Luis) De La Fuente, along with many extended family members.

Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938; (915) 855-4007.

• Visitation: Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.

• Services: Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by entombment at Evergreen East Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Armando M. Rodriguez Jr., Joaquin Andujo Jr., Armando Chacon, Nicholas Andujo, Joseph Andujo, and Christian Macias.
