Ruben R. Guerra, 61, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:55am. He was surrounded by his wife of 34 years, Laura Guerra; his son, Andy Guerra; and his daughter, Carrie Guerra. Ruben was a realtor, an ACTS Brother, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and possibly the most enthusiastic Denver Broncos fan in El Paso. After 6 dates, he proposed and Laura said yes. In 1984, their son, Andy, was born, and in 1993 they were blessed with a daughter, Carrie, who they named after his mother, Carolina. As part of his devotion to his family, Ruben worked almost every day of his life. Even though they practically begged him to take more time off. He wanted to make sure they never lacked for anything, and even tried to work from the hospital in his final days. Ruben is survived by his wife and two children, his brothers Javier Guerra (Grace) and Andres Guerra (Juanita), his sisters, Maria Luna (Ruben) and Alicia Guerra, 12 godchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carolina and Agapito Guerra, his brothers Little Joe and Rudy Guerra, and his grandparents. A rosary will be held Friday, August 26, at 7pm at Martin Funeral Home on Montana. Visitation is from 5-9. The funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10am at St. Mark Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
