Ruth (Cuca, Refugio) Manilla, 85, of El Paso passed away November 17, 2011. She was born to the late Julio & Amelia Ramirez on July 4, 1926, in El Paso, TX. She married her loving husband, Manuel Moises Manilla June 2, 1947. They were married for 64 years.

Ruth graduated from El Paso Tech, where she began her working career with US Immigration, Southwest National Bank, Chelsea Lumber Company and the Sheraton Hotel.

Ruth was an extraordinary Mother devoted to her family and loved to be a part of their lives. She loved to smile and laugh. Ruth came from a large family survived by Aurora Imai, George Ramirez, Robert Ramirez, Gloria Villalva, Helen Aroz, and deceased Julio Ramirez Jr, Ralph Ramirez, Emily Rios.

She has 3 children, Rita Steininger (Tom), Victor Manilla (Nancy), Marcia Manilla, 11 Grandchildren, Tommy & Gregory Steininger, Lauren Steininger Gosende, Monique Giggy, Amanda Vigil, Tara Thompson, Adam & Erika Manilla, Tariq Gough, Zachary & Sam Johnson and 10 great grandchildren.

Celebration of her life will be Tuesday, November 22, with a Visitation from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Rosary Vigil Service, 7:00 p.m., Martin Funeral Home, 3839 Montana, El Paso TX. Funeral Mass Wednesday, November 23, 9:15 a.m. Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1315 Travis St, El Paso TX 79903. Graveside service will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 10:30 -11:00.
