

He is survived by his wife Susana Torres, son Gabriel, daughters Sandra and Raquel. Salvador is also survived by his stepson Marco Torres (Erika Favela), stepdaughters Rebecca Arnold (Phillip) and Laura Castaneda (Andrew) and seven grandchildren, brothers David and George Basurto and sisters Rosa Esparza, Irene Ortiz and Elena Basurto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Candelaria Basurto, brothers Angel and Roberto Basurto, sisters Gloria Sano and Carmen Benavidez.
Salvador served in the U.S. Air Force and the Army National Guard. He worked at Department of Defense as a Sheet Metal Worker and then moved on to become a Planner Estimator over 30 years before he retired.
Visitation will be on Thursday December 1, 2022 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00am Friday, December 2, 2022 at St Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 408 Park St. Interment will immediately follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, where he will be laid to rest.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Basurto, Marco Torres, Matt Arnold, Eben Castaneda, Marco Aaron Torres, Marcos Ortiz and Ricardo Rubalcaba Jr. Honorary Pallbearers David Basurto, George Basurto, Armando De La Fuente, Ricardo De La Fuente, Osvaldo De La Fuente, Ricardo Rubalcaba Sr and Canuto Ortiz.
