Born on July 23, 1913, in Santa Bárbara, Chihuahua, to Viviana Lopez and Celerino Rico, Santos lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, humor, resilience, and deep faith. She carried these qualities with grace throughout her remarkable 112 years.
After the passing of her beloved husband, Andres Fierro Sr., she became a devoted single mother, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and keeping her family close and united. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of her wonderful cooking, for which she was well known and cherished. Santos worked as a cafeteria attendant at Clardy Elementary School and retired at the age of 73.
She enjoyed knitting and completing word search puzzles, but her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every gathering and lovingly gave her blessings to each of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Santos is survived by her beloved brother, Pedro Lopez Jr.: daughters, Lucy Yturralde and Rebecca Gonzalez; her son, Daniel Fierro; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andres Fierro Sr.; her mother, Viviana Lopez; her sisters, Mercedes Rodriguez, Juana Rico; sisters-in-law, Carmen Lopez and Estella Lopez; her son, Louie Fierro; her brothers, Mayo Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Tony Lopez; and her great-great-grandsons, Marcus Horbachefsky and Daniel Fierro Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave.El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be celebrated February 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 355 Dolan St. El Paso, Texas 79905 Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd. El paso, Texas 79907.
Santos will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love that kept her family united and the blessings she shared so generously with those she cherished.
