Socorro L. Villalobos, age 89, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024. She was born to Jesus and Josefa Lopez in Smelter Town and later in life, moved to Canutillo. Socorro graduated from the 8th grade and started working at a very early age. She worked for Farrah Manufacturer for many years and retired from Griggs Restaurant after 40 years of hard work and dedication. She enjoyed cooking and was famous for her flour tortillas and tamales which family and friends looked forward to having when visiting with Socorro. She was a wonderful mother and an amazing grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Benito, Benjamin, Daniel and Paulino Lopez; sisters, Irene Lopez and Estela Sanchez. She is survived by her son, Daniel Villalobos ( Margarita); daughter, Teresa Solis (Fidel); grandchildren, Cody Blue Villalobos (Jessica), Johnny Ray Villalobos (Arabela), Claudia Nicole Martinez (Nick) and Matthew Daniel Solis; great-grandchildren, Eugene, Rosemary and Emily Villalobos; brothers, George and Samuel Lopez and sister, Maria Luisa Lopez; several nephews and nieces and extended family members.
Visitation for Socorro will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a vigil at 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79903. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 22nd at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 7065 2nd Ave, Canutillo, TX 79835 with interment to follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery, 3061 Memorial Pines Rd, Sunland Park, NM 88063.
Pallbearers will be Fidel Solis, Matthew Solis, Danny Villalobos, Johnny Villalobos, Kevin Gutierrez and Mark Gutierrez.
The Villalobos Family would like to give a special thanks to the Envision Hospice staff for all the care, attention and love they provided to both Socorro and her family during these difficult times.
