She was preceded in death by her sisters Bertha Vidal, and Catalina Vidal, and her brother Ignacio Vidal. Sophie is survived by her children: Richard Sambrano and his spouse Stefanie, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Carlos Sambrano and his spouse Connie, of El Paso, Texas; Albert Sambrano, of San Antonio, Texas; Sylvia Read, of Garland, Texas; Daniel Sambrano and his spouse Mary, of El Paso, Texas; Irma Tibbit and her spouse Anthony, of Sweetwater, Texas; Alex Sambrano and his spouse Laura, of Pflugerville, Texas; also by 22 grandchildren, and by many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mom was a faithful follower of Christ since receiving him as her Savior in 1977. She attended Sun Valley Baptist Temple. Mom’s wisdom, care, and unwavering love to our family was an immeasurable blessing. None of us would ever hear an unkind word from her about others. Her home was always warm and welcoming. When she was still able mom loved to cook and would feed all who entered her home. She was a gentle spirit who always saw the best in others and her legacy of prayer, compassion, and kindness will continue to inspire all of us.
Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: (Proverbs 31:28)
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. (1Corinthians 13:4-8)
The visitation will be on June 11, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Del Angel Funeral Home, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas. The funeral service will be on June 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the same location.
