Tony Alvarado, age 65, went to be with our Lord on Monday November 17, 2014 at Eternal Life Foster Home. He was born April 26, 1949 in El Paso, Texas where he was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of the 1967 class at Stephen F. Austin High School. He spent 43 years of his life working in the grocery business at Piggy Bank, Gibson's, Smith's, Rainbow, and Walgreens. Some would say this was his mission field as he never missed an opportunity to greet, bless, or talk about Jesus Christ to his customers. Brother Tony, as he liked to be called, truly lived his life for Jesus Christ and was a great example of how to be "Christ with skin on".
He is preceded in death by his father Antonio Alvarado and his mother Lilia (Salas) King. He is survived by his younger brother Daniel Alvarado, son's Tony Jr. (Crystal), Michael, Jason (Andrea), and daughter's Lori (Marcos), Danielle, as well as nine grandchildren.
Family, friends, and anyone whose lives were touched by Brother Tony are invited to join us at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1pm to remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Candelighters Organization in his honor.
