She shared a loving and devoted life with her husband, Arturo Guerrero, for 49 years. Together they built a beautiful family and created a lifetime of treasured memories. Their love was strengthened through life’s joys and challenges, and together they raised three children.
A woman of remarkable strength and resilience, Virginia faced every challenge with courage and grace. She was a true warrior until the very end. Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, she was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where her faith guided her life and gave her strength.
Virginia’s greatest gifts were her patience, compassion, and dedication to nurturing young minds. Throughout her 26 years with the El Paso Independent School District, she provided guidance, encouragement, and support to countless students, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and care that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a proud graduate of Austin High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. She believed that learning was a lifelong journey.
Virginia's legacy of faith, love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family is comforted by their faith, rejoicing that she now rests with her Savior and looking forward to the day they are reunited.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Arturo Guerrero; her son, Johnny Guerrero; her daughters, Marianne Guerrero-Reyes and Sarah Marie Guerrero; her three grandchildren; her godson, Jonathan Punzo; her sister, Hannah Christina Gelok; her brother, Robert White, and his wife, Sharon; and her many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Soledad Felix-Gelok and David William Gelok Sr., as well as her grandparents, Trinidad and Guadalupe Felix.
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful; He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering; He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough; and the hills were hard to climb. So, he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone for part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Visitation for Virginia will be held Monday, August 10, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903 with her commital to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401S. Zaragoza Rd. El Paso, Texas 79907.
