At 77 years old, William "Bill" Moore Jr., of 200 Ocean Side, passed away on May 14, 2026, at home in El Paso, Texas, enveloped in the love of his wife, Alyca E. Moore, and his family.

He humbly accepted the call to serve, entering the United States Air Force and earning the rank of Sergeant in the 49th Security Police Sq (TAC) before his honorable discharge in 1971. Bill went on to build an unprecedented career in the railroad industry. Joining Southern Pacific in 1978, he shattered barriers in 1979 by becoming a locomotive engineer, proudly opening doors for future Black railroad employees until his retirement. Bill dedicated nearly three decades to the railroad until his retirement in 2007 at age 60.
Bill married Linda Lagene Wilson in 1971, and they raised five children until her passing in 1985. In 1993, Bill was blessed with a second chapter of love when he married Alyca Evelyn Stuart, who walked faithfully by his side throughout the rest of his journey.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill's greatest joy was his grass once he retired, it became his most prized possession. In his retirement, Bill spent his remaining years doing what he loved most; traveling, caring for his family, and pouring his love, wisdom, and devotion into his grass, siblings, nieces and nephews, friends, in-laws, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
