A beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin and friend. Zyvan Thomas Rodriguez left this world in the only way he thought would bring him peace. He left us on February 24, 2020 at the young age of 24. He was born in El Paso, Texas on January 21, 1996 at 0803am. Zyvan was raised by his loving parents Cecelia and Barry Key. He grew up mostly in El Paso with a few visits to other states as an adult and a short stint in Japan as a teen. He fancied himself a traveler as an adult, hoping from city to city finding his next adventure.
Zyvan loved animals. Most recently his two favorite dogs, loyal companions and guardians at his death were Cheeto and Ellie. He spent more time with them than humans, saying he just didn't know how to talk to people. Zyvan had many loves in his life from martial arts at a young age, to high stakes daredevil, amateur clown, drawing, reading, exercising, gaming and my favorite coffee. He enjoyed family cookouts and parties. Loved spending time with everyone but his family and friends were what made him happy. He enjoyed bowling against everyone and amazing them when he came out the winner. You could often find him listening to music which relaxed him. Music was the last words he heard in this earth. We will remember his boisterous laugh and country accent, his smiles no matter the situation or what life threw at him, and caring personality. Zyvan's return to our home and family was only for a few short months but we loved having him back.
When you think of him, don't remember his faults or short comings that were his daily struggle. Instead remember his contagious smile and laughter. Remember the great memories you shared with him. Hug your loved ones a little longer in his memory and you can never say I love you too much.
Zyvan was preceded in death by his grandparents Ramon Ramoz, Sherrie and Bryan Key, and great grandparents Jose and Carmen Anchondo. He leaves behind his parents, sister Vanessa, and brothers Ernie and Evan; Stepdad Marshall Clinton, uncles Junior and Javi, aunt Alma, and cousins Javi, Bryan, Brandon, Monse, Angel, David, and numerous friends.
